Introductions and purpose of this blog

Hello! Thank you for joining me.

I am embarking on this journey to attempt to gather my thoughts, and grow in my faith with those who wish to do the same. I am a lifelong Christian, saved at a young age, who just recently began to take my faith seriously. I am a new father, and that has made me realize that I need to set a Godly example for my son as he grows. Manhood has taken a lot of different shapes in recent years, and I want a place where we can discuss what it means to be a steadfast, God fearing man in the 21st century.

"16 All Scripture is inspired by God and beneficial for teaching, for rebuke, for correction, for training in righteousness; 17 so that the man or woman of God may be fully capable, equipped for every good work." 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NASB)

This will be scripture based, as scripture is sufficient in all things. I will be using a few versions when quoting, typically NASB or ESV as I find them the best suited for advanced study that I am hoping to foster here. I may occasionally use the CSB as well in cases where readability would benefit.

This blog was heavily inspired by a message from John MacArthur by the same name. Though I don't completely agree with everything he teaches, I respect him and his teachings of strict adherence to God's word and commands. This will hopefully follow in those same guidelines, following God's commands to a tee, and applying his word to everyday life to glorify him in any way that we can. This is what we, as men, are called to do. Be providers and protectors of women and children, and to be God seeking role models for the family.

I expect to grow through this. I am nowhere near perfect, as none of us are. Please comment anything you think I need to hear, and stay in touch so we can grow through Christ together.
